Silver Level
The Intermediate (Silver) Level is designed to continue from where Beginner (Bronze) Level ends.
At the previous level, we learned basic knowledge about chords, strumming, and how to apply rhythm. At this level we take your skills further by introducing scales, picking techniques, and how to apply them to music. Students must retain knowledge, and display playability, of all techniques and concepts taught at this phase before advancing.
As a new Intermediate Level student, here are a few things you can do to prepare for your first lesson:
-Have a playable Acoustic or Electric Guitar.
-Have a tuner.
-Understand basic knowledge of Chords.
-Be able to play basic strum patterns.
-Have a willingness to learn.
-Dedicate time to consistent practice.
If you have basic knowledge, and playability, of Chords, Chord Progressions, Scales, and Picking techniques then this is where your journey will begin. This level is also for guitarists who have been playing for a few years, can perform basic songs, and want to push their playing potential. Here you will learn to hone new skills and techniques, understand Music Theory, and push your playing to the next level.
Brief Course Description
Picking Techniques
Starting with Alternate Picking, we will begin to teach students various picking techniques associated with different genres and styles of music.
Scales
Scales are the foundation to everything involving music. Not only are scales responsible for all your favorite melodies and solos, but also for all your chords we learned at the Beginner (Bronze) Level.
Muting
This is one technique that is rarely talked about. Essentially, "Muting" is the control of the strings not being used while playing. All sound is vibration, and strings will resonate continuously even when not being played. We teach you to control that in order to achieve the cleanest possible tone at all times.
Improvisation
A lot of musicians simply like to "jam" with others. This usually means nothing is rehearsed prior and everyone is just feeling the music and playing together. We will teach you methods on how you can achieve and maintain total control, and confidence, of your playing while improvising.
